but I'm back!! Little things start getting in the way, and before you know it, a year goes by and nary a post. I'm starting fresh-faced and fancy-free.
So far, it's been a brutally hot summer: it's painful to walk to the mailbox, get in the car at 2 p.m., and water the plants for the 30th day in a row.
Interestingly, zinnias love, love, love the heat. They seem to bloom more profusely as it heats up, as if to spite the sun and laugh in its face. This beauty is just one of my many beautiful zinnias growing in my garden this summer. I love them for arrangements, and they are like crack to butterflies.

Why, God. Why? WHY won't my zinnias thrive? Could it be the 100% direct sun ... triple digits direct sun? Nah.
